In celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr's birthday, yesterday I spent time at this phenomenal memorial to pay tribute to him and all he has done to change the course of our nation. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., is one of the greatest iconic figures who has paved the way for millions to flourish in a society where there was/is so much prejudice, inequality and injustice still going on.
This memorial was designed as a lasting tribute to Dr. King's legacy and will forever serve as a monument to the freedom, opportunity and justice for which he stood.
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial is a must-see for all that visit the nation's capital. The memorial is situated on a four-acre site along the Tidal Basin, adjacent to the Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial and sharing a direct line of sight between the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials.
