Description
All Eyes On You. Here I am visiting one of my favorite parts of the Smithsonian National Zoo, the children's petting farm. I introduce to you Rose the brown cow, Cirrus the white alpaca, and Orion the beige alpaca. I don't know how I did it, but I managed to get their undivided attention for just a few seconds.
Though there is not much at the petting zoo, it is fun to go check out what is there, especially in the nice weather. Rose the brown cow and Tulip the black & white cow love to be petted. The alpacas are usually a distance away. Enjoy! Emmy Vickers,

Hi Emmy.. This is such a hoot! Looks like Cirrus is either saying hello on behalf of the group or, he's just about to tell the punch line of a zoo yard joke! A really unusual capture! Congrats .. Dona Dugay :0)

I love the cows and the alpacas at the DC National Zoo. They are fun to watch. The cows love to be petted, the alpacas, more or less seem to keep their distance. I think they are adorable. In this photo, the alpacas have been shaven for the summer. In the fall and winter, they wear beautiful coats of fur that make you want to pet them even more. Stop by the petting farm if you ever visit the DC National Zoo.
