Blooming Rhododendron. My lavender rhododendron bushes are finally blooming (05/13/2015). They are so beautiful partially and in full bloom.
Did you know the rhododendron is the national flower of Nepal? And the state flower of Washington state and West Virginia?
I also learned that all parts of rhododendrons, especially the leaves, contain grayanotoxin, a poison that can cause severe stomachache, liver damage and pneumonia. So be sure to keep grazing animals away from your beautiful rhododendron plants.
