Description
Early Arrival Of The Japanese Cherry Blossoms 2016,
One of my favorite time of year is when the cherry blossoms are blooming, because that means spring has arrived or it is right around the corner.
One of the prettiest scenes this year of the cherry blossoms in full bloom at the tidal basin in Washington DC. Don't you just love the different shades of pink? Enjoy! Emmy Vickers,

Beautiful Cherry Blossoms - wish I could be in D.C. that time of year. Love how you curved the images of the trees around the water with the Washington Monument on the side.
Marta Robin Gaughen
Hi Emmy, I think your town and mine are the best places to see Japanese Cherry Trees in bloom outside of Japan...wasn't it a magnificent bloom this year? Really love your photos. Marta (San Diego, CA)
Janice Rae Pariza
This is a wonderful composition, perfectly framed, revealing the beauty of this awesome landmark!
Emmy Marie Vickers replied:
Wow, thanks Janice for the compliments. The cherry blossoms really do add a special something to the monument this time of year. Thanks for your support. I appreciate you much!
GJ Waller
Beautiful! Is this color photography, or hand-colored? I am amazed at the glow of pink on the monument.
Emmy Marie Vickers replied:
Thank you GJ for the compliment. My apologies for my delay in response. I did minimal processing. The cherry blossoms in the very front and one's in the back I had to bright slightly so that it would reflect exactly what I saw in person. The lighting is natural. The only other thing I changed was the brightness of the sky to bring out the clouds. The clouds were amazing this particular day. Thanks again for visiting and commenting. I very much appreciate your support!
