Description
This is the National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) located in downtown Washington, D.C. - just a couple of blocks from the U.S. Capitol. This five-story museum holds one of the world's most expansive collections of Native artifacts, including objects, photographs, archives, and media covering the entire Western Hemisphere, from the Arctic Circle to Tierra del Fuego.
NMAI has three facilities: the National Museum of the American Indian on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., which opened on September 21, 2004; the Gustav Heye Center, a permanent museum in NYC; and the Cultural Resources Center, a research and collections facility in Suitland, Maryland.
Very rich in history, this is a must-see when visiting Washington, DC.

Wonderful shot! One day, I am going to get to see this museum!! I'm originally from outside of DC, (Prince George's County) but this hadn't been built back then. I love the POV you chose!! v
Emmy Vickers replied:
Thank you for the compliments and vote Francie. A building I sadly don't see a lot of pictures of. I definitely appreciate your support and comments! Very cool, I know Prince George's County well, I do business with a lot of colleagues in that area. I will definitely be visiting before the end of this year. I did not have a chance to go inside.

Handsome view of an unusual building, Emmy! The solid blue sky adds a lot of POP! L/F
Emmy Vickers replied:
Thank you so much Clif. It was a beautiful clear day...that is why I chose to go into the city to capture a few of the buildings. The sky was nice and blue with a few pretty white clouds. Thanks so much for the like and favorite.
