Description
This is the tip of the Chrysler Building in Manhattan, New York. I took this picture on Thanksgiving Day (11/28/2013). It was a nice sunny cold afternoon. Some fun facts about the Chrysler Building: (1) It was the tallest building in the world from 1930 to 1931 and then the Empire State Building took over that tile; (2) The Chrysler Building has 77 floors and 34 elevators; (3) it stands at 1,048 feet high; (4) was completed on May 28th, 1930; (5) it cost $15 million dollars to build; (6) it took 391,881 rivets and 3,826,000 bricks to build this skyscraper of a building; (7) the Chrysler Corporation sold the building in the mid 1950s; and (8) the Chrysler Building is located at 405 Lexington Avenue (42nd Street and Lexington Ave.) in midtown Manhattan, New York. This building is a spectacular site both during the day and at night. Enjoy! Emmy Vickers
