Description
Xylophone in Pierce Park,
Hubby and I came across this wonderful interactive park as we were walking from a parking garage to Baltimore's Inner Harbor. It's quite the hidden gem. This big xylophone was one of the fun activities.
Did you know that the xylophone is part of the percussion family of instruments? Yes indeed! Definition of xylophone: "The xylophone is a musical instrument with wooden bars that are struck with a mallet to produce sound. The wooden bars are arranged similarly to a piano, and each one is a different length, which creates a different sound."
To hear what a xylophone sounds like, check out this short video - it shows you how to play "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." Enjoy!! Emmy Vickers,
