Balancing Act - Roseate Spoonbill. How unique is this beauty? I was stunned to find out that this Roseate Spoonbill is a North American bird. I was quite fascinated by them (there were two). I watched them for about 20 minutes.
The Roseate Spoonbill is a large wading bird with pink plumage and a distinctive spatula-like bill. It is considered one of the most striking birds found in North America.
This was an exhibit I had not seen before at the Smithsonian Nation Zoo in Washington, DC. It is called the AMAZONIA exhibit. It is an indoor rainforest with wildlife.
