In The Calm Of Winter. This calm, beautiful, peaceful, and mystery-like winter scene was taken in Silver Spring, MD. The area in which I took this photo is known as The Northwest Branch Trails. Many Silver Spring MD residents know about this wonderful place, while at the same time, it is still a hidden treasure for both locals and out of towners. A great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of this busy suburban area. You will also fine many folks fishing as well.
Our first snowfall of the season last year was January 2, 2014. This photo was taken the next day in the afternoon. This creek in which this path overlooks, is beautiful in the summer, fall, and when snow falls. It's located right on Route 29 in Silver Spring, MD.
Along the trail it is very quiet, with only the occasional distant traffic sound that acts as a reminder of your presence in the middle of a busy suburb. A great place for photographers to enjoy nature and take pictures. Emmy Vickers,

Thank you so much Adrian for the compliment. This is exactly how I found the stick in the snow. When I saw it along with the shadow of the trees and the spotlights of sun, it gave me a sense of peace, calmness, and quiet. I thought it would make for a lovely wall hanging.
