This is Mei Xiang the mother giant panda who lives at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, DC. She just came out of her den to join her son Xiao Qi Ji. It was quite the treat to see both pandas out and about on this warm autumn/November day. They are amazing and fun to observe. Emmy Vickers,
