Description
A November Afternoon At The Washington Monument.
My family was visiting the week of Thanksgiving 2015 and we ventured into downtown Washington DC the day after Thanksgiving. Beautiful 60 degree weather. This is the scene we saw as the sun was slowly beginning to set. We had a beautiful day visiting a museum, and seeing a few of the amazing monuments in downtown DC. Emmy Vickers,

Emmy, if the first rule in photography is all about catching the light ... I'd say you did so perfectly!!!!! VERY beautiful photography!!!!
Emmy Vickers replied:
Wow, thanks so much Lois. I am thrilled you caught the "light" importance. Yes, this particular scene was all about catching the sunlight on this very important and historic DC monument. I also wanted to capture the peacefulness of the scene as well. I had to kneel down on both knees (have meniscus tear in both) to capture this. Also, this was a family outing, so this scene and moment has great meaning to me. Thank you so much for the compliment and your support! Means a lot to me!!
