Description
Chesapeake Ship in Baltimore,
This scene was taken from a water taxi that I hopped on at the Baltimore Inner Harbor. This ship is called the United States Lightship Chesapeake. This historic ship and landmark is located at Pier 3 east of the Inner Harbor. You can't miss it.
Fun fact: the Chesapeake was built in 1930 for the U.S. Lighthouse Service.
What I learned is that this is now actually a museum ship and has been for a long time. You can actually tour it. It is owned by the National Park Service and operated by Historic Ships in Baltimore Museum located of course in Baltimore, MD. Baltimore along the harbor is a fun place to visit. Taking a water taxi ride allows you to see things from a different perspective than on foot. The beauty of the water taxi rides, you can hop off to site see and then get back on for another location. This scene was taken in 2017. I look forward to going back again soon. The Baltimore Harbor is a Fun fun fun place to visit!! Emmy Vickers,
